How to Use Mission Control (a.k.a. Multidesktop Wizard Mode) on Mac

🎮 How It Works

🧃 Step 1: Open Mission Control

You can summon it like a wizard in 3 ways:

  • Swipe up with 3 or 4 fingers on your trackpad

  • Press F3 (that key with 3 squares stacked like pancakes, seen on a Mac with no touch bar, or new model - past 2021)

  • Control + ↑ arrow

  • Boom 💥 Your Mac will zoom out into multidesktop mode, also known as Mission Control

🧃 Step 2: Meet The Desktop Universe

Once you’re in Mission Control:
  • Your open apps are laid out nicely. Clean. Feng shui.

  • At the top, you’ll see your current desktop(s) — probably just “Desktop 1”

  • That’s about to change 😏

🧃 Step 3: Add More Desktops (a.k.a. New Realities)

Move your mouse to the top bar → hover near the right corner
→ Click the ➕ button

Boom. Another desktop just got born.

🧃 Step 4: Use It Like a Boss

 - Open different apps in different desktops.
 - Example:
Desktop 1 = Work stuff 🧾
Desktop 2 = Netflix (I mean, break time) 🎬
Desktop 3 = Spotify & memes 🎶
  • Swipe left/right with 4 fingers to switch between them like a ninja

  • Or use Control + ← / → arrows to do the same with keyboard swagger

🧃 Closing Desktops

Back in Mission Control → hover over a desktop → click the ❌

Don’t worry, apps will just go to Desktop 1. They’re not dead, just... relocated 😌

🎉 Outro:

Congrats, space traveller 🪐

You now know how to live multiple desktop lives like a true multitasking Mac wizard.

🎖️ Achievement Unlocked:

“Didn’t accidentally launch Launchpad instead of Mission Control” 👏
